My brother has been mistreated by teachers and other on hand staff at this school for the past 2 years or so. My mother almost breaks down in tears over the phone when she told me some of the stories of these, for lack of a better term, bullies. My main point of contempt is the most recent: charging my brother with possession and sale of imitation marijuana. The short version of the story is that an acquaintance/ friend of my little brother was told to give this kid a little bag of hedge trimmings as a joke and was caught with it later on that day, sent to In School Suspension and was told that he wouldn't be charged for this incident. towards the beginning of this month (may 2016)/ end of the last month, my brother is found with a cigarette in his possession and is told that, along with spending the rest of his summer in school, he's now being sent to court over the previous incident. Before I continue, he was drug tested shortly after that and found clean of any substances. I'm more than willing to accept that my brother does deserve a suspension for bringing a cigarette to school because it goes against school policy. what I'm not willing to accept is that this case against my brother is ludicrous; this could be settled in a domestic/private meeting, but you chose to take a 15 year old to court so you can squeeze out the last bit of money you can from a blind woman on welfare and a stepfather who goes in and out of work depending on weather and availability. Yes, there are a few other faculty related incidents, which were incited by the faculty and blamed on my brother, but I feel that this example of buffoonery is more than enough. To any parents who have children in this school or are thinking of enrolling you child in this school: If you are not willing to defend your children when they are being bullied by staff in this school, than may god bring you peace because this school will do nothing of the sort.
